Executive technology judgement without the full-time hire. We own strategy, architecture, and hiring alongside your leadership team, at a cadence of 1 to 3 days a week. When a CTO leaves, we hold the role steady while you search properly.

They need a senior technologist in the room, helping them decide what to build, how to build it, and who to hire to build it with them. That is the work Kodehort does.

We embed with founding teams rather than advise from a distance, and we are comfortable moving between boardroom strategy and production code in the same week.
A single workshop, a time-boxed experiment, or a seat on your board. Most clients arrive at one service and stay for the next.
What we do
Your team is capable and still stuck: delivery drags, practices slip, managers are learning on the job. We pair with your people, inside their real work, until the habits hold without us.
Read moreYou have a validated idea and no engineering team. We immerse in the domain with you, test the assumptions that matter, build a pragmatic MVP, and hire your founding engineer.
Read moreA decision is blocked on an assumption nobody has tested. We design a time-boxed experiment, run it, and hand back evidence, not PowerPoint.
Read moreTechnology judgement at board level, once the engineering function runs without us. We read the board pack, ask the questions a technical non-exec should ask, and stay close enough to the team to know whether the answers are true.

How we work
Every engagement starts with a short paid discovery. Vague goals kill part-time arrangements, so we don’t accept them: discovery ends with specific, co-defined outcomes on paper before the main engagement begins. Think “two senior engineering hires in six months”, or “an architecture the next funding round can stand behind”.
Discovery comes before architecture, and experiments come before production code. We prefer off-the-shelf where it doesn’t differentiate, custom-built where it does. And because reduced hours only work with deliberate communication, we keep updates written and asynchronous, with a standing 30 minutes each week with leadership for whatever shouldn’t wait.
Our depth is in healthcare, insurtech, and venture-studio environments, with a track record of taking companies from concept through spin-out and further funding.
